Gonggi is a traditional Korean game similar to the Western game “Jacks.” It is played with five small stones or plastic pieces, called gonggitdol, and requires skill and speed.

How to play Gonggi:

Level 1: Spread the five stones on a flat surface. Throw one stone into the air, pick up another from the ground, and then catch the falling stone. Repeat until all stones are picked up.
Level 2: Repeat the process, but pick up the stones two at a time.
Level 3: First pick up three stones simultaneously, then the fourth.
Level 4: Throw one stone into the air, place the other four on the ground, catch the falling stone, throw it again, and pick up the four stones before catching it again.
Level 5: Throw all five stones into the air, turn your hand so they land on the back of your hand, throw them again, and catch as many as possible. The number of stones caught equals your score.

Gonggi has recently gained international attention after being featured in the second season of the Netflix series “Squid Game.” The game is easy to learn and can be played anywhere, making it a fun activity for both children and adults.
